Dr. Phil Koehler: Dr. Philip G. Koehler is the Margie and Dempsey Sapp Endowed Professor of Structural Pest Control and also the Florida Pest Management Association’s Endowed Professor of Urban Entomology at the University of Florida.  He is an honorary member of the Florida Pest Management Association and the Certified Pest Control Operators of Florida.  His honors include the National Pest Management Association’s Leadership Award, the UF’s Distinguished Faculty Award, UF’s Academy of Teaching Excellence, UF’s Professorial Excellence Award, 2 USDA Distinguished Service Awards, and the Florida Pest Management Association’s Outstanding Service Award and their 2012 Pioneer award and 2013 President’s award.  He was inducted into the Pest Management Professional Hall of Fame in 2015 and received the PCT Leadership award in 1996. He is well known for his research in urban entomology and structural pest control, including research on mosquitoes, bed bugs, flies, cockroaches, termites, and ants.

Rolando “Rolie” Calzadilla is the owner/operator of Pest Wildlife Pro, LLC in Miami, FL specializing in Wildlife Services. Rolie has over seventeen (17) years of experience in specialized wildlife work for birds, bees, and bats throughout the United States for all types of clients and locations with a focus on food handling. He is a Nationally Recognized Industry Speaker/Expert for pest bird solutions providing training talks at Pest World, Wildlife Expo and over 25 regional/national pest control companies throughout the USA. He has also published several articles in industry magazines and newsletters regarding pest birds.

Dr. Rebecca Baldwin

Dr. Rebecca Baldwin received her BS and MS degrees from the University of Louisiana Monroe and her PhD from the University of Florida.

She is currently an associate professor and the undergraduate coordinator for the University of Florida Entomology and Nematology Department.  She became interested in entomology as a child through the 4-H club in Ouachita Parish, and shares her love of entomology and education by directing the UF Entomology Education and Outreach Program, by mentoring and advising students, and by teaching general education and introductory entomology courses to undergraduates.  Her research program focuses on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) tools for crawling insects.  Outside of the classroom, Rebecca provides CEU and recertification training for teachers as well as many local, state and national pest management agencies, pest management associations, and for the Entomological Society of America (ESA) Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) program.

Dr. Bobby Corrigan

Dr. Corrigan has been active in pest management and food safety for over 25 years.  He has published over 160 technical publications and has authored or co-authored 4 textbooks and several book chapters in pest control including: The Scientific Guide to Pest Management Operations (2010); and Food Plant Sanitation (2003). He is currently working on his 2nd edition of the textbook Rodent Control.

Bobby has appeared in Time Magazine; The New Yorker Magazine; the CBS Sunday Monday Show; he has blogged about rats for the New York Times, is a periodical on-going guest for NPR and PBS, and has made multiple appearances for the Discovery Channel.  

In 2016, he appeared in the mainstream Hollywood movie: Rats directed by the Academy Award Nominee Morgan Spurlock, and his work recently appeared in April 2019 issue of the National Geographic Magazine. 

Dr. Corrigan ran a pest control route for 3 years fulltime in New York City saving to go to college to eventually obtain his Ph.D. in urban rodentology and his BS and MS also from Purdue in urban entomology.

Bobby was inducted to the Pest Control Hall of fame in 2011.

Cory Goeltzenleuchter

Cory Goeltzenleuchter, PHE (Gil-son-lighter) grew up in the pest control industry and has been with McCall Service in Florida since 2013. He started as a Branch Manager of their Gainesville office and is now the Technical Training Director overseeing all training, safety and regulatory compliance. Cory graduated from the University of Florida with his Bachelor of Science degree in Entomology specializing in Urban Pest Management under Dr. Phil Koehler. While earning his degree, he also served as an equipment manager for the Florida Gators Football team. Cory is the secretary and a founding member of the Urban Pest Management Technical Committee, a member of the National Non-Soil Fumigation Committee, and the National Pest Management Association’s Technical and WDO Committees. Cory is also certified by the National Pest Management Association in Food Plant Safety and Quality Pro and is a Certified AIB Food Defense Coordinator. He is a certified operator in 4 Southeastern states and has completed the OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification. Cory is also a Public Health Entomologist certificate holder through the ESA. Cory is engaged to his co-Gator Grad fiancé; Tristin and they graciously share their home with their three cats!

Mark Ruff, P.A.

Mark has been defending the pest control industry for over two decades.  He has a significant background in engineering stemming from over 10 years of service in the U.S. Navy as a propulsion engineer.  After leaving the Navy, Mark turned to agriculture and raised cattle in Southern Illinois.  During that same period, he worked in his family’s business and constructed 82 homes before leaving to pursue a legal career.  His experience in engineering, agriculture and construction makes him uniquely qualified to assess claims spanning these fields, to include wood-destroying organism damage claims, chemical exposure claims, construction defects, and mold related claims.  Mark currently serves as General Counsel for the Florida Pest Management Association, as a Board Member and counsel for Florida’s Fumigation Advisory Counsel and as counsel to the Certified Pest Control Operators Association of Florida.  Due to his experience in the industry, he currently enjoys the privilege of representing 62 pest control companies across the Country. Mark also teaches pest control liability courses for the University of Florida’s Pest Management University.  Mark is a Supreme Court Certified Mediator and Arbitrator. .


Allison Allen

Allison Allen is the Executive Director of QualityPro, the certification program of the National Pest Management Association. QualityPro is the largest certification program for companies in the pest management industry and includes the QualityPro Food Safety, QualityPro Schools, QualityPro Public Health and GreenPro service certifications. For NPMA, she is also the staff liaison to the Recruitment & Retention and Bylaws committees, Safety Task Force, and Professional Women in Pest Management (PWIPM). In her previous role, she developed and ran the StopPests in Housing Program for the Northeastern IPM Center at Cornell University. Outside of Cornell, she has also worked for the NYC Department of Health, Modern Pest Services, BedBug Central, and the National Center for Healthy Housing. Allie is a board certified entomologist with degrees in teaching and entomology and is an active member of the Entomological Society of America and Pi Chi Omega.

Judi Lazaro joined AIB International in 1990 and after varies roles including food safety inspector and Head of Audit Services North America, she is now the Sr Category  Director, Food Safety, Global Sales.  After graduating from college,  Judi served in the US Army as a Commissioned Officer and then joined the fast-paced food industry with Frito Lay, Inc.  She is passionate about the food industry and food safety and offers solutions to your complicated issues. 

Judi Lazaro

Nina Jenkins is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Entomology, Penn State.  She earned her B.S. in Applied Biology from the University of Greenwich in the UK, and her Ph.D. from Cranfield University, UK.  Nina was part of the successful team that developed the first biopesticide for locust and grasshopper control ‘Green Muscle’ (now owned by BASF).  Since moving to Penn State in 2008, she has been working on the development of biopesticide solutions for other pest insects.  Most recently, she developed and commercialized Aprehend, the first fungal based biopesticide for the control and prevention of bed bugs.

Matthew Remmen M.S. is the Area Sales Manager at Bayer CropScience. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville studying under Dr. Phil Koehler in 2000. He then went on to earn his MS degree from the University of Florida, Ft. Lauderdale. Matthew worked with Western Pest Services in Ft. Lauderdale for a total of 9 years as the Regional Entomologist and Technical Service Manager. He then led as the Bed Bug Division Manager at Bell Environmental Services in New Jersey for 2 years. Matthew is familiar with all common forms of pest management and has served on various committees advocating best management practices.
